What to expect? This is a minimally invasive treatment using a fine needle or canula to inject into the dermal layer. As such expect several small pricks during to treatment. The amount of injection entirely depends on your specific needs, goals and anatomy. Actual injection time will be only 10-20 minutes but expect an hour duration for the appointment.

How do I start? First with a consultation with Misty. Although there is no downtime following your appointment we suggest making an appointment 1-2 weeks prior to any special events.

When do I see results? Immediately as wrinkles and contours are filled. Then depending on occasional swelling results settle in about a 1 week and collagen growth continues to maintain volume over months and . We also schedule a follow up appointment to make any needed touch ups.

With new and established products on the market it is natural for patients to have questions about which is best for them. It’s a given that women over the last 10 years have accepted injections as a better alternative to expensive face lifts to achieve a more youthful appearance and to save money. And the industry data supports this. In 2013, there were more than 2.2 million injectable filler procedures, which makes fillers the second most popular nonsurgical cosmetic procedure, and the fastest growing.
Misty, have you noticed an increase in the interest for Bellafill?
“Yes, if you love the youthful look that dermal fillers provide, but wish the results weren’t so temporary, then consider Bellafill. Several of my patients have been asking about this filler. You can have a youthful appearance that now lasts years, up to 5 years, instead of the months for other fillers” Bellafill is the only collagen filler with microsheres. Bellafill adds volume to the skin to lift and smooth away wrinkles and folds.
Why do you think Bellafill is less well known?
“From what I’ve seen there is a scarcity of skilled professionals comfortable with using Bellafill. If Bellafill is right for you I strongly recommend an experienced injector. Although most non invasive aesthetic procedures are not permanent, patients should take special care in selecting a professional, especially with the longevity of this product. Frankly, many injectors are frightened to use a product that requires this level of confidence and skills. It's not for everyone”.
How did Misty get this level of confidence?
Bellafill is currently only available in the Dallas market from a select group of physicians that have been properly trained by the company. Misty used the product at a previous practice in Georgia. In addition, continuing education and training is key and Misty has been busy doing just that. In fact, we have positive feedback from a patient. Bellafill recently flew in a surgeon experienced with Bellafill to work a morning with Misty and we wanted to share the feedback from patient Demaree. “I was very comfortable with Misty after I heard the guest surgeon say Misty had the best injector skills he had seen on his trip, maybe ever. How are the results different than other fillers?
The beautiful benefits of Bellafill are immediate correction and lasting improvement with visible benefits through 5 years for wrinkles known as smile lines. That is not just us talking. Patients agree. In a consumer survey, 91% of patients were likely to recommend Bellafill. In a 5 year study, 83% of patients were satisfied to very satisfied with their nasolabial fold correction at the end of 5 years. The microspheres in Bellafill® are made of PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate), a biocompatible material that has been used in medical implants for 65 years. The spheres elicit an inflammatory response, which stimulates the body to create a collagen capsule around these spheres. In other words, PMMA helps

Results sound great but is it safe?
Yes, Bellafill has a proven safety profile. Bellafill was proven safe in the longest and largest prospective dermal filler study ever completed. Although the FDA approved the product in 2006 for improving the nasolabial folds, there have been recent studies that have expanded its indications. 1) The use of Bellafill for acne scars (a future blog on this subject) and 2) data which shows at least 5 years of correction from a
Bellafill treatment. Both of these studies are ground breaking, with no other fillers able to make these claims.
This is a simple, in-office treatment with little to no downtime. You can immediately resume normal activities.
Additionally, please note that Bellafill requires a skin test in the U.S. to identify patients who may be allergic
to the collagen or lidocaine in Bellafill.
Can you help with Acne Scaring?
This is a severely under treated indication and many of my patients have previously tried options with less than satisfactory results. Atrophic acne scars are pitted scars that occur when fibrous tissue replaces healthy tissue damaged by acne and not enough replacement collagen is formed. Acne scars can have a physical and emotional impact on individuals, and have shown to cause high levels of anxiety and self-consciousness. In fact, in an independent study, 71 percent of people feel that their acne scars negatively affect their self-confidence. I’ve seen firsthand the emotional and physical impact that acne scars have on patients. It can make them feel ashamed, embarrassed and lessen their self-confidence on a day-to-day basis. There are new treatments that can help. Bellafill is the only dermal filler approved for adding volume below the atrophic acne scar to lift it to the level of surrounding skin for smoother-looking skin. It is safe and long lasting.
Now that I have learned more about Bellafill how does that fit into my budget?
Your new look as we have discussed will last longer. We have several ways to look at the cost and essentially spreading it out over years. The investment upfront for Bellafill is greater but you will be avoiding touch ups every 6 months which over 3-5 years can add up. Another approach is to start small and return every 3 months to layer more Bellafill on, again spreading the expense over several years. Either way you will look
great and you might find the math for Bellifill over 3-5 years is more economical than returning frequently for a shorter duration product.
